The Great Re-use-a-thon! A Green Organizing Event Sponsored by NAPO-AZ

get organized Phoenix, Arizona – Valley communities are invited to a Green Organizing Event hosted by the Arizona Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO-AZ). People often start the New Year thinking of ways they can simplify, de-stress, and improve their lives, and for many households, clutter is a major challenge. This event will help the public de-clutter without filling landfills.

 The Great Re-use-a-thon is designed to educate and benefit the community, and to support Green Living in Arizona. During this event the public is invited to bring their downsized household items that will then be recycled, donated and/or reused by Green companies representing many different categories.

 Held at the Town & Country Shopping Center from 10:00 TO 2:00 on Saturday, February 12, 2011, the event will feature several companies that specialize in re-sale, re-use, and recycling household objects, all of whom will accept items during the event. The public is invited to bring items such as furniture, computers, e-waste, shredding, books, clothing and other items to drop off free of charge. Town & Country Shopping Center, SE corner of 20th Street and Camelback Road, Phoenix, has resident shops that will also be involved, including Trader Joe’s, My Sister’s Closet, Chakra 4, as well as Half-Price Books, located nearby.

NAPO-AZ is presenting this event in conjunction with Get Organized Month, sponsored by the National Association of Professional Organizers. AZ Chapter members will be on hand during the event to provide De-cluttering and Organizing tips and techniques, as well as providing consolidated resources for selling, donating, and recycling household objects.

NAPO-AZ chapter members are dedicated to helping people in their efforts to re-use, recycle and donate items they no longer need or want. “We see firsthand how difficult it is for our clients to let go of their ‘stuff’. When they can consign or donate their items, they are more motivated to clean house and release clutter” notes Cynthia Peden, professional organizer. Sherry Drolet, President of NAPO-AZ, adds, “knowing that unused belongings can go to someone in need, sold to increase income, or re-purposed and kept out of landfills is a terrific incentive to clear out spaces.”
