It can be easy to let your dresser drawers get out of control. Clothing gets stuffed in and stacked on top of each other, and you can no longer easily find the item you’re looking for. If you’re tired of buying the same white t-shirt over and over again, or not being able to find your favorite shirt, then watch the video or read on for some tips from professional home organizer, Bridges Conner, on how to organize your t-shirts in your dresser drawers.

Store T-Shirts Vertically

Storing things vertically, rather than horizontally, helps keep them visible. When you fold t-shirts, they are often stacked on top of each other, so you can’t see what is underneath the topmost shirt. And out of sight is out of mind, so you end up wearing the same shirts over and over again. Putting your t-shirts vertically in your drawer will help you easily see the shirts you have.

How to Fold Clothes for Vertical Storage

A flip-n-fold is a handy tool that helps you fold your t-shirts, and it can be stored and used right next to your washer and dryer. Using the flip-n-fold, align your shirt so that the logo will be on the outside. If the shirt is longer than the flip-n-fold, position it so that the extra length is the same on both the top and bottom of the shirt. Next, flip over one side of the shirt, then the other. If the sleeve extends past the fold, fold it back on top of the shirt. Now flip up the bottom and then do one final flip of the top, and you are ready to store your shirts vertically in your drawers.

Now you can see what each t-shirt is in your dresser, flip through what you’ve got, and see what you own. You won’t lose anything, and your shirts are all very accessible. Storing your t-shirts like this can also save you money, as you won’t be buying duplicate white shirts anymore once you can see what you already have.
