I can’t tell you how much time it takes me to keep my calendar updated.  Not only do I have to keep track of my own schedule, work, errands, appointments, etc., I also have two children and a husband to keep track of.  I’m sure that many of you are in a similar situation.  Just keeping track of everything takes a great deal of time and effort.  So I try to teach my clients how to “Organize their Calendar”.  Here are a few quick tips for keeping your calendar organized.

Designate certain days for certain activities. Saturday mornings, for example, could be cleaning time (make sure everyone is home to help).  Wednesday nights could be laundry night, Friday afternoons could be devoted to errands. Break up chores into time segments. What needs to be done daily, weekly, monthly or yearly? Post them on the family calendar.   Be sure to schedule in some fun as well.  Save Sunday afternoon for family time – attendance required.

Be sure to take advantage of the current technology by have electronic calendars.  Each family member can be synced to one calendar which helps when something gets added, everyone is updated immediately.  Plus, you can take advantage of the “add to my calendar” feature that a lot of companies and websites are using these days.  Make sure that whatever you do it is an efficient use of your time, after all that’s exactly what you are tying to achieve with these simple tips.

Happy Organizing
