Many people have a hard time parting with their belongings; attaching sentimental value to your possessions may create great memories, but it is also cluttering up your home! Lucky for you, the internet has created easily accessible opportunities to market just about any product you are looking to clear out. Sure, you might not want to get rid of your belongings, but have you really thought about the cash you could make by selling your items online? That extra cash could go a long way!
Are you a book hoarder? Collecting books is easy to do, but how often do you actually re-read a book? Once you have finished reading a book, make a habit of reselling it on Amazon.com. For newer titles, you can often earn close to the amount you paid. The process is quick and simple. There are even iPhone apps, like Amazon Seller, that allow you to simply scan the barcode of the book and it will list it for sale.
Nearly everyone can relate to having a piece of furniture hidden away in the corner of their garage. Instead of letting that old couch collect dust, why not sell it on Craigslist.com? Posting the item takes mere seconds and is completely free. Price it competitively and you will be surprised how quickly someone will come take it off of your hands.
The biggest place for clutter can be your closet. Shoes, tops, pants, dresses, jackets, coats, shorts, etc., why not ditch last year’s styles and sell your designer clothes to Klury? Klury.com buys luxury clothing and accessories from you online and pays you cash! If you’re an Arizona local and want to earn a bit more than their direct buyouts, try consigning your luxury items with Klury. They offer complimentary home pick-ups across the Valley. There is nothing better than an organized closet full of only the pieces you love!
Whether you are on the fence about parting ways with some of the excess in your home, or debating about hiring a professional organizer to assist you with the clutter, the extra cash can be a motivating factor. A professional organizer can help you discover the gold mine that you may be sitting on with items you simply wrote off as clutter. As they say “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”!

Happy Organizing! Bridges
I always read your columns and this one really struck home. I’ve been wanting to unload a number of household items in my garage. I thought of Craig’s List but have been leery of it as I have heard of disturbing incidents. Have you used them recently? Has it been succeessful? Do you have any tips?
Also, because most items are near new I will price things reasonably but not ‘dirt cheap’ ;will they sell?
Thank you.
