home organization

Plan the night before

Home organization can be difficult when you have small children pulling your attention in a million different directions.  There is one sentence that I would like to get across…get organized at night for the next day.   I know most moms just want to relax and perhaps catch up with their spouse after the kids are put to bed, but if you take just 10-15 minutes to plan and organize what you need the next day, it will make a huge difference. Here are some suggestions to consider:

  • Pack and restock the diaper bag and put near the door (or kitchen if you need to add food items in the morning)
  • Pack lunches and snacks for the next day
  • Select clothes for yourself and your children
  • Check your calendar for appointments and To Do’s
  • Make a short list of people to call and appointments to make — so when you have a few minutes, you can simply pick up the phone and make a quick call
  • Plan tomorrow night’s dinner and defrost items in the refrigerator if applicable

Doing just a few of these the night before will save you so much more time the following day.  You will be ready to run out of the door with everything that you need.

Happy Organizing!  Bridges
