Tackle your spice cabinet

It was a toss-up between “Garage” and “Get Organized” for the letter “G”.  I opted for “Get Organized” because it was a more generic term and I could talk about it as a strategy for anyone to use. The key to organizing any project in your life, is to not to bite off more that you can chew in the time that you have allotted for the task.  This is where most of the frustration begins when people tackle a project.  They are excited to get started and try to accomplish way too much work and it becomes completely overwhelming!  That is where a Professional Organizer comes in.  They are able to take in the entire project, break it down into manageable tasks and then come up with new habits for their clients to maintain the organized space in their lives!

The other half of the puzzle is the committment to maintain what you have just accomplished with your hard work.  There is a great saying “Stow as you Go” from Sandra Felton.  If you use something, put it back EXACTLY where it belongs.  If you do not do this, you will be right back to square one before you know it and your hard work did not get you any further.  Remember, you have to come up with new strategies and habits to maintaining the organization that you have accomplished!

I am going to leave  you with another quote from Sandra Felton, “Time is not the issue in organizing; commitment is.” Keep that in mind the next time you decide to tackle a project!

Happy Organizing!  Bridges
