This is going to be the first in a series of organizing tips using a letter of the alphabet every day! I would love to hear any suggestions that you may have to add (as I am sure that others would love the ideas also).
So here we go with the letter “A”. For the letter I have “assign a color scheme.” There will be no more cries of “It’s not mine” or “I don’t want that one” if you assign a signature color to each child. This will follow the rule all of the way through with colored baskets that you choose for each child, their towels, toothbrushes, backpacks, etc. You get the picture! This way you can tell at a glance what belongs to who and this will eliminate the arguments. With the colored baskets, the kids can use them as handy drop off for items they use during the day and then one of their jobs before they go to bed is to put their items away and then putting the basket back to start the routine over the next day!
Do you have any other ideas of how a color scheme with your kids would help out with your daily routine and organizing goals? Please share…
What a great suggestion. I will share this with my client’s who have multiple young children.
