What A Professional Organizer Can Do!

This was a great blog that I ran across today that I thought I would pass along (along with the credit).  Her name is Lorraine Musing and you can read more of her “Get Organized!” blog at http://www.getorganized.ws/Blog/tabid/102/EntryId/8/How-can-a-Professional-Organizer-Help-Me.aspx

“People call a Professional Organizer for many different reasons.  Some call when life has gotten too overwhelming and tasks have mounted so high it’s difficult to breathe.  Others call when they need to regain precious time they are wasting from lack of systems and order.  Then you have those people who have just gotten behind in their responsibilities; they don’t have time and they just need some extra help.
Either way, an organizer’s overall goal is to create systems, plan your space and show you the secrets of how to do a task more efficiently; thus saving you lots of time, stress and frustration.
It’s not as simple as you think.  Knowing how different personalities function and how they interact within a household can be challenging.  An organizer has to be familiar with products available on the market, the flow of a room, systems for filing and easy retrieval and a way to keep the client on track even after an organizer leaves.
Depending on the qualifications, each organizer can specialize in different types of organizing: electronic, hoarders, family management, arts and crafts, home-based businesses and more.  It’s important to know what you want.  Do you want an organizer to just get you organized and leave or do you need someone to show you how to stay organized and do the work as well?
Having an organizer teach you to stay organized takes more coaching and many times requires more than one appointment for coaching.  These appointments for coaching last for usually an hour. Hopefully, they will be the highlight of your day as you begin to understand how to use your time management skills.
Organizers usually charge by the hour and prices range from $30 an hour to $100 an hour.  The price depends on their experience and if they are an individually owned company or have several organizers within a company, which can keep the hourly cost down.
Hiring an organizer can truly change your home and life.  If you allow the organizer to evaluate all the areas of your life from delegation of responsibilities in the home, mail, bill paying, your calendar and time management; an organizer can find out what you need and really make some great changes in your life and the life of your entire family.”
Happy Organizing!  Bridges
