Entering the world of “Mommy-Hood” is a difficult step. You are dealing with fatigue, a new-born plus all of the other chores of maintaining the house, being a spouse, running the errands and everything else that is on our plates. Getting organized can be the very last thing on our minds! If their is one other tip that I would encourage young mom’s to do is to get organized at night for the next day. Now, I know most moms just want to relax and perhaps catch up with their spouse after the kids are put to bed, but if you take just 10-15 minutes to plan and organize what you need the next day, it will make a huge difference. Here are some suggestions:
- Pack / restock the diaper bag and put near the door (or kitchen if you need to add food items in the morning)
- Pack lunches / snacks for the next day
- Select clothes for yourself and baby / children
- Check your calendar for appointments / To Do’s
- Make a short list of people to call; appointments to make — so when you have a few minutes, you can simply pick up the phone and make a quick call
- Plan tomorrow night’s dinner; defrost items in the refrigerator if applicable
- Put everything that you will need for the upcoming day at the door going to your garage. That way if you are running late, you can grab your stuff and go…
I hope that helps!
Happy Organizing! Bridges
